Privacy Policy
Who we are
The Pacific Coast Obstetrical and Gynecological Society is a nonprofit professional society. We collect information from Fellows, meeting registrants, guests and companions, authors, and industry exhibitors in order to operate the Society and its Annual Scientific Meeting. We do not sell information, and we do not operate for commercial gain.
What we collect
-
Fellow profile information you provide (name, professional affiliation, contact information, biography, photograph).
-
Meeting registration information (registrant and guest names, registration category, meal and activity selections, dietary and accessibility requests).
-
Abstract, poster, and manuscript submissions.
-
Dues and payment records — the fact and amount of payment, and the channel used.
-
Standard website technical information (IP address, login records, page activity).
Payment information
Payment card information is collected and processed by our payment provider under PCI-DSS standards. The Society does not receive, transcribe, or store payment card numbers. We receive only the fact,
amount, and disposition of a transaction.
Who can see what
Our website has two tiers. Public pages contain Society information, meeting information, governance documents designated public under our Public Documents Policy, and contact information for the Board. The Fellows-only area — which requires a login — contains the Fellowship Directory, member profiles, discussion boards, photo albums, minutes, newsletters, and financial statements. Your Fellow profile is visible to other Fellows. It is not public, and it is not indexed by search engines.
What we do not do
We do not sell, rent, or license the Fellowship Directory, Fellow contact information, or any registrant list. We do not provide these to industry sponsors, exhibitors, or any other third party. Industry supporters of the Annual Meeting receive no attendee data from the Society.
Photographs
Photographs taken at the Annual Meeting may be posted to the Fellows-only area of the website. If you appear in a photograph and would prefer it removed, contact us and we will remove it. You do not need to give a reason.
How long we keep it
Records are retained according to the Society’s Document Retention and Destruction Policy, which is available on request. Registration and payment records are retained for the period required for financial and tax purposes and are then destroyed.
Communications
We contact Fellows and registrants regarding Society business, dues, and the Annual Meeting. We do not send third-party advertising.
Your choices
To access, correct, or delete information we hold about you, or to ask a question about this policy, contact the Society Administrator at pcogsesquivias@gmail.com, or use the contact form. We will respond within a reasonable period and will keep a record of the request and its disposition.
Changes
Material changes to this policy are approved by the Board of Directors and posted here.
